The Customer is NOT Always Right!.
Today the Life Lemon Dodge brings you the topic of….The customer is always right!
Now I don’t know who said this…but they need to be duct taped to the wall of a store during the Christmas rush and have a line of “Karens” as long as the Great Wall of China come at them…one complaint at a time!!
Ridiculous Thing To Say
It’s the most ridiculous thing to ever come out of a person’s mouth. And the notion that it’s ok that a retail worker/server is expected to be disrespected, makes my blood boil! NEWS FLASH…IT’S NOT!!
I have worked as a server in a restaurant and in retail. With a break in between having stayed home with my kids. And boy had things changed!
*Where the heck did the Karen come from??
*Did she emerge from the depths of hell when someone was unwittingly playing with a Quiji board??
*Did she somehow get past world military forces by morphing from a cute furry kitten, into a screaming venom spitting alien??
Wherever she/he came from, the “Karen” needs to get a grip and become human.
Watching “Karens” makes me shake my head in wonder. Would they speak to their own family members like that if they were on the other side of the counter? I must say I love to see young people talking back to them after trying their best to accommodate them.
My Experience
I once had a couple of women come into the shoe store where I worked, two minutes to close. After I nicely informed them that the store and mall for that matter, was closing in a few minutes, (I also said I would be more than happy to serve them if they came back), they ranted that the store was still open, they wanted service!! In my head I was thinking…you inconsiderate piece of sh*t, I have been on my feet for eight hours!!
But I smiled and wished them a pleasant evening as I shooed them out the door..lol It was 9 o’clock…
So it’s really no wonder it is hard to get retail/server workers right now. Long story short after dealing with numerous “Karens”, this life lemon hit me hard…I went on a mental health leave and soon stopped working all together. Sometimes the life lemon just takes you down and you need time to regroup. I remind myself I am not alone feeling overwhelmed and I will get back on my feet stronger than ever.
Life Experience Wisdom
Think before you spew!! And pretend you are talking to your own family members!
Do what’s best for your own mental health, rest and regroup and rise up more determined than ever to dodge the next life lemon. Hey…I’m human, I’m still working on that one.
A follow up chat is coming soon…how to deal with “Karens” and keep your sanity.
Thanks for allowing me to vent on The Life Lemon Dodge!
*Karen Disclaimer…
I recognize not all women named Karen are “Karens”. I personally know some lovely kind Karens. I encourage all people to be a Karen…and not a “Karen”. And this is why I have written “Karen” the way I have. 😉
Cheers til next time!

My Motto
When life throws baseball size lemons at you, that smack you upside the head, stomp on those damn things and make yourself a cocktail!
Bahaha darn those villains summoning “Karens” with their Ouija boards!
Silly “Karens”…step away from the Ouija boards! lol
