Just Make It Happen Already

Just Make It Happen Already

Hello Life Lemon Dodgers!  I’m switching it up for this chat.  I’ve had a busy day and my partner is working nights this week, so I thought I’d grab my pen and notebook (yes I use a pen and notebook…then type it out on the computer.  Some habits are hard to update and like I said, I’m old and do as I please)  It just works for me, what can I say.

The nights are getting cool, so I’m inside on the couch with my old girl…Stella, my fourteen year old Chihuahua.  I have the fireplace channel on the t.v.  I used to have a real wood burning fireplace in another life, but I do enjoy this one now…no mess to clean up and no fear of burning the house down!  And of course the instant on is great when I remember the t.v. channel number thingy.  Sometimes my crazy white cat Snowpants sits on the t.v. table in front of the fire.  The sound brings back former fire place memories for her too I guess! Lol

There is just something about staring into a fire that helps me get my thoughts from my brain to paper.  Now if my partner would stop texting…LOL  He’s such a sweetie, we have known each other for about a year, and we still send each other texts every day.  A good morning…have a nice day, or for night shifts, How’s your evening… see you soon.  I am very grateful to have him in my life.

Ok now back to my chat.

Dream big

One of my reasons for doing this blog was to challenge myself, try something new.  But as I sit here writing I have to admit…I’ve yet to do the online website blog thing.  I have all these articles written and typed and saved in documents on my computer.  And it hits me…am I afraid to fail or worse succeed?!?  If you fail…that’s bad enough, but if you succeed…then people will be expecting it all the time!  And when a life lemon hit me…that was it, it wasn’t meant to be, over and out.  Thinking back over the years, I would stop short of completing things, or didn’t even start as self doubt would take over and that ended things right then and there.  I was always getting in my own way.  But over the years I’ve learned to listen to others advice, and I’ve watched people I admire, to see how they handle life lemons when they come hurling towards them.  I’ve seen people overcome incredible odds and witnessed them thrive.  So why can’t I be one of them?!  You just have to decide to kick yourself in the butt and put the self doubt aside and realize you deserve to have good things happen to you in your life.  As my dear friend used to say…”Dream Big, now get off your ass and make it happen already!

Tomorrow Is The Day!

So I have made up my mind…tomorrow will be the day!  No more excuses, well I do have a vet appointment for Stella in the morning, but as soon as my partner leaves for work, I’ll fire up ye olde computer and make it happen.  I will have my own website tomorrow!  Exciting and truly terrifying for this old girl…lol

The start of a new chapter in life, I know now each chapter in life has its ups and downs, or learning opportunities as I call them now.  With age comes wisdom they say so I have learned to embrace each difficulty as a learning tool, and I am even more grateful for the positive outcomes of each chapter.

Life Experience Wisdom

* Push yourself to keep at it.  Don’t give up.

* There will be ups and downs, learn a lesson from a mistake, which turns a negative into a positive.

* Always be grateful for learning opportunities that will make you stronger.

* Get out of your own way to let good things happen.

* And most important, it is never too late to start a new chapter in your life.

So I will carry on and if nothing else…The Life Lemon Dodge will always be…A spot for my thoughts.

Wish me luck that this old broad can figure it out tomorrow…LOL!

Well I obviously did figure it out, took a while, that’s a story for another day….lol

Cheer till next time!

My Motto

When life throws baseball size lemons at you, that smack you upside the head, stomp on those damn things and make yourself a cocktail!
