Life Chapters
I’m letting the reins go on my mind this morning while I walk in the woods.
Like a horse out of the barn after a long winter, my mind runs amok in every direction, kicking up a dust storm and running in circles with excitement of being set free.
I spend so much time reining in thoughts so as to not over think everything. Sometimes you need to just let the mind be and let it go wild.
What I keep coming back to is a family member that is following her passion.
Which makes me think of chapters in life.
Even as a little kid I thought of life as a book with chapters. Some chapters are ok, let’s just get through them, like homework in school, they just need to be done…lol
Other chapters are exciting and fun and you hope they never end, like summer holidays as a kid, or a new relationship as an adult.
And at the end of some you stop and reflect…Wow I did that! I survived that! I can do anything!
Chapters in life can help with coping. The phrase…”This too shall pass” helps to put certain parts of your chapter in perspective.
Nothing lasts forever.
I Am The Author of My Book
Always remember you are the author of your book.
Your story is yours to write. And if you don’t like the direction it’s going, then maybe it’s time to start a new chapter.
No it’s not easy, I won’t sugar coat it, it is scary as hell!
New chapters come with doubt, fear and a case of nervous stomach like you’ve never had before!
But if your gut is also telling you to go for it, then do it.
Listen to your inner voice and make a plan to achieve it successfully.
Step By Step
For me I work backwards. I start with the ending…what I want, and figure out the steps I need to do to get there.
Having a plan worked out is reassuring. As you work through each step, you will gain confidence moving forward.
I’ve seen this work for everything from leaving abusive partners to changing careers.
Without a plan, my steps written down on paper, I never would have started this blog. This blog has unknowingly been a help with my anxiety and is a dose of mental health meds for me.
A successful chapter for me!
When you find yourself feeling the self doubt seeping in, and you will, look to others you admire that have made the redirection of their chapters.
Always surround yourself with positive influences and vibes.
Kick the negative nonsense out the door. You don’t need that!
And also remember when you are feeling overwhelmed, and you will feel this too, learn to rest…not to quit.
Don’t give up on your new chapter. Take a break and come back to it.
Your passion will be revived and you will make it happen!
Always keep the end in sight.
It’s Never Too Late
Which brings me back to that family member. She is a woman a few years younger than I am.
(See…it is never too late for new chapters!) She is passionate about helping others. A creative free spirit that is striking out on her own with her own practice.
I couldn’t be any more thrilled for her! And I wish her all the best!
Her courage, her never give up attitude, her determination to make her dreams a reality is truly inspiring!
So there you go, chapters can be scary, but the outcomes can be wonderful where you look back and say…
I did it!
