I had a busy day a while ago, busier than usual anyway. Most days I pace myself, making time for what I want to get done. But the day snowballed from one thing to another. House chores, outside backyard chores, grocery shopping and finally computer chores. I was on a roll! And I was exhausted!
It made me think of all the women I know that do this day in and day out. I did too at one point in my life.
And I wondered how many of these women made room for other things that are also essential in their lives?
As a busy women it’s easy to forget to look after yourself.
So this week I want you to make room in your life for self care. Here are five ideas to start with.
* Eat good food…Seems silly to say, but I have been so busy in the past that I’ve forgotten to eat lunch.
You can’t keep the motor running if you don’t fuel it!
* Sleep… Just put the phone down at night and get to bed. You need to sleep to recharge. (I’m saying that in my Mom voice!)
* Prioritize…There are only so many hours in the day. And the world won’t end if everything doesn’t get done. Pick and choose what is most important.
* Smile more…Life is short. At some point in your day, every day, take a few seconds to smile about something you are grateful for.
* Ask for help…You are not a machine. You are human, and all humans need a little help from time to time.
Life Experience Wisdom
* Life gets busy, remember to take time for yourself.
* Doing small things for yourself is better than doing nothing at all. Eat better, sleep more is a good start.
* Even if all you do for yourself is smile and think of something you are grateful for.
It’s an essential part of looking after yourself.
