Be Thankful When Things DON’T Work Out

Be Thankful When Things DON’T Work Out!

I was going over some of my favourite quotes and messages the other day, and came across one

I actual said out loud, “Oh yeah, this is a good life lemon lesson!”

So this week the life lesson is…Be thankful when things DON’T work out!

I sat for quite a while thinking about situations in my life that didn’t go as I wanted them to and in all of them I either had something better come along, or at least I learned a lesson and moved on.

Whether it’s the guy I kept trying to work things out with, or the job that I tried and it didn’t work out, something better came along.

Here’s a prime example of this.

When I was looking for an apartment on my own…again, I went back to my former one.  The rent had increased beyond what I could afford.

But what came along was better!

I knew I had found the perfect one when the neighbour next door greeted me while I was unloading my car.

She was wearing a robe and had a glass of wine in her hand…it was noon.  She says, “Hello, welcome to the neighbourhood!”  At that point I knew it was a safe, relaxed neighbourhood…it was better…I was home.

I smiled the whole time I unpacked my car thinking, thank gawd I didn’t take the old apartment.

And that’s how it works!

Before I came to this realization of life I would be miserable wondering why…why was this not working, whatever the situation was.

But after it happened again and again, over time I just threw up my hands and said, “I give up…whatever will be will be!”

And for me, that’s when things changed.

I started to see things in a different light.

I saw things wouldn’t have been as rosy as I thought they would be, if I had gotten my way.

And when I was patient and waited, something better did come along.

I gave up the “why not” thinking and replaced it with…well if not that, then what?

And now it’s almost exciting to see what will come along! Lol

So try thinking this way next time something doesn’t go as planned and see what happens!

Life Experience Wisdom

*  Don’t waste time being miserable when life throws lemons at you.

*  Be patient when things don’t go as you had hoped, and let life sort itself out.

As always, thanks for visiting my blog!

Cheers til next week,

Grace

My Motto

When life throws baseball size lemons at you, that smack you upside the head, stomp on those damn things and make yourself a cocktail!
