Words of Wisdom
I came across an interesting question the other day while looking for topics to write about. And it made me think…which is what I do.
The question was… “If you had ten minutes to live, what message would you give your children, giving them the best that you have learned in life. Something to carry with them in their own lives.
I’ve touched on a lot of these already in my articles, so I’ve gone a little deeper to find other lessons that are just as important.
But first and foremost my old standbys are…
Be Grateful
Be Kind
Be Respectful and mind your manners!
Other than those favourites I think a few others also make the list.
First…Never feel guilty for living your best life of your own choosing. Guilt has its place, but when it comes to living your own life, kick guilt to the curb. Do your own thing if it makes you happy and hurts no one.
Second…Nothing lasts forever. The good or the bad. So enjoy the good times. Learn from the bad times.
Third…Laugh a lot. Surround yourself with people that share your sense of humour. It will get you through the bad times, and make the good times that much richer.
Fourth…Boundaries are a must, never let anyone cross your boundaries without setting them straight. The ones that respect your boundaries are keepers. Anyone that keeps testing your limits needs to be cut loose. Your own mental health comes first.
And lastly…Every once in a while, eat a damn cupcake for breakfast! Just because!
And remember, some days you just have to color outside the lines, think outside the box, and dance to the beat of your own drum! Doing so keeps life interesting.
And those are the messages I want my own family to live by after I’m gone.

My Motto
When life throws baseball size lemons at you, that smack you upside the head, stomp on those damn things and make yourself a cocktail!
