Life is One Big Experiment
One of my favourite quotes is…
Insanity is doing
The same thing over and over again
And expecting different results
(Conflicting info on the actual source…the interwebs are full of conflicts aren’t they).
Anyway the smarty pants that said it was right on the money.
Life is one big experiment, to try all kinds of things. Some will work and be wonderful and the angels will sing.
Others will crash and burn and die a horrible death.
And that’s ok.
There is nothing wrong with trying something a few times. Maybe you misread instructions or missed a step in the process.
But when you consistently walk a path and fall in rabbit holes..one after the other… then by gawd it’s time to find a new path! Wake up before you hurt yourself!
You may be bored, or are unhappy with what you are doing…time to experiment with something new.
Now new to an introvert like myself can cause a case of the jitters, so do what you can do…you are the one in charge of the experiment.
Trying a new recipe or a new genre of book to read might be enough.
Whereas an extrovert may try sky diving or white water rafting, both of which may cause me to stroke out just thinking about them!
Why not ask a friend to try something new with you? Not only will it be motivational but you are sure to get a case of the giggles and who doesn’t love that with a bestie.
Here’s a good one that anyone can do….
Help someone.
Even something as small as holding a door for someone behind you.
Say hello to someone you pass on the sidewalk instead of looking at them as if you are wondering if they are a serial killer.
Even the small things to you, can be huge to others.
Make funny faces or wave at the screaming kid in front of you while you stand in line at the grocery store and give Momma a break. (I’ve done this and had the Mother thank me).
Keep in mind whether it’s a new recipe, book, hobby…whatever you are trying for the first time, approach it with the mindset of a beginner.
Remember practice makes you better at whatever you are doing.
You can experiment, you may fail, but you can learn and adjust.
Life Experience Wisdom
* You are the scientist in your own life…you decide the experiments.
* Try different things and see what makes you happiest.
* Always learn from what doesn’t work and adjust.
* Be grateful for what does work when you hear the angels sing!
Thanks for stopping by, cheers til next week!

My Motto
When life throws baseball size lemons at you, that smack you upside the head, stomp on those damn things and make yourself a cocktail!
