Embrace the Little Things in Life
I think it’s time for another reminder to appreciate the little things in life.
Those seemingly small things that happen to you that make you stop and live in a moment of gratitude.
I find those moments especially helpful to remember when life throws life lemons at me.
It reminds me it’s not the end of the world, I need to concentrate on the good moments. Deal with the bad moments, but then push them to the back of the bus, or better yet off the bus.
For me it’s just a way of coping and it gives me a more positive attitude which leads to my over all better mental health.
So here are five things that make me stop and appreciate “the little things.”
* Now this happens every year, so I always look forward to it…the first spring robin! It sparks such joy but seems so silly, and it happens every year, but to me it is a sign of a new start.
I am grateful for new starts.
* Going shopping with Bestie J. Last trip we were out she bought things for her new place, I got to help pick things and I didn’t spend a dime. A successful trip for both of us!
I am grateful for Bestie J.
* Time spent in a greenhouse. I’m a big plant lover. I always have been, I dug my first garden when I was sixteen. I grew carnations and zinnias. I still remember how fabulous the colours were. I recently bought some houseplants to try in my windows (if the cat keeps out of them). I always had houseplants growing up. They are a source of zen for me.
I am grateful for my local greenhouse.
* Having a dude that lets me be me. Whether I’m shoveling snow in snowboots and a night shirt or dancing around the back yard in that same clothing combo during a snowstorm, he just laughs and says I love you.
If you are going to have a dude in your life, make sure he doesn’t try to change you or put you down for being you, he should let you be you.
I am grateful for my dude.
* And finally I am always grateful for family near and far, even if we don’t see each other often, I know they are there. And I am so grateful for video time with my baby granddaughter. She is such a sweetheart. I cherish the moments she smiles back at her crazy grandma making funny noises at her. There is nothing like a baby smiling at you to remind you to enjoy and live in the moment.
I am grateful for baby visits.
So there you go, that’s my latest list of “little things.”
What are yours?
