Looking Promising on the Home Front
This is a follow up article to the home front saga. Here is a link to that article if you want to read it first.
I should have a sub title I think, “Do we stay or do we go?” Now I’ve got an old song stuck in my head.
After giving it considerable thought we both decided we should stay put and see what happens.
We can always leave if we feel the need to. We realized we were letting the negative what ifs grab control.
And that’s what I try my best to avoid these days.
A good thing came out of it though, I did get some sorting and spring cleaning done, thinking we may be moving. So a declutter was the lemon cocktail to the situation!
After having a chat with the landlord’s father, he is my go to for maintenance etc, he let me know they have someone moving in upstairs soon. He is a single man about our age. So that’s a good thing, not a family of elephants wandering around.
But an even better part is that the landlord’s father spoke to him about letting me look after the backyard and he said sure!
And before the people upstairs moved they gave me their lawn mower, so I’m all excited about that too!
So I will be digging a small shade garden for a couple of perennials and getting a couple more pots of flowers. It will feel good to do a little gardening again.
My point to this week’s article is to try your best to not give in the “what ifs”.
Remember life situations can work out for the best, not only for the worst.
I’m working with “so far so good” and “we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it” train of thought and see how it goes.
So for now I will enjoy planning a little garden and I’ll look forward to meeting our new upstairs neighbor.
Life Experience Wisdom
* Don’t react right away, take time to think a questionable situation through.
* Remember issues can work out for the best, not only for the worst.
* Take time to enjoy the little things that make you happy, like a free lawn mower and buying plants.
That’s it for this week, I think I’ll browse online for small garden ideas.
Cheers til next week.

My Motto
When life throws baseball size lemons at you, that smack you upside the head, stomp on those damn things and make yourself a cocktail!
