The Bestie Medicine
I have a question for you.
When you are feeling down and need a boost, what do you do?
My life lesson answer to this question is to reach out to your Bestie!
The best medicine around is a visit with your best friend.
They always say laughter is the best medicine and my first choice would be a get together with my girl Bestie J!
Your bestie knows just what to say to lift you up. And if you are angry at someone, or someone has done you wrong, she knows all the right nasty curse words to use about said person, to turn the sad tears into “she hears me, she understands me, she’s there for me”, happy tears.
A day out together, even if it’s just a few hours can be all you need to feel like a new person.
With your bestie you get to be your true authentic self. She’ll listen to your long winded stories of something that happened to you. You get to be goofy and make her laugh or quiet and lost in thought, and she’ll sit with you just so you know you aren’t alone.
I took Bestie J out for lunch for her birthday lately. We got caught up on all our favourite shows on the tube, and discussed all the latest gossip at her work. We had a lovely late lunch at a restaurant we both enjoy!
We had talked about hitting up our local greenhouse when we finished lunch and as we walked back to the car I asked her if she wanted to shop or go to the greenhouse, (we are both huge plant lovers)
To which she replied, “Nope, I want to go home and have a nap!”
I replied quick as lightning, “Oh thank gawd, so do I!
We both laughed and got in the car.
That’s the best part of besties, we accept each other the way we are.
We’re both introverts, so when we’ve had enough peopling, even with each other, we can say so, and the other one doesn’t get their knickers in a knot and get offended.
A simple, “I hear ya” and all is good.
So remember this the next time you are feeling down or having an off day, text or call your bestie, (we send each other funny memes) you’ll get through the bad times together, and make wonderful memories with the good times.
Life Experience Wisdom
* A visit with your bestie is the cheapest, fastest form of medicine when you feel down.
* Even when life gets busy be sure to keep in touch, even if it’s just a quick text or meme sent.
That’s it for this week, I’m going to scroll a bit on my tablet to find something funny to send to Bestie J!
Cheers til next week,
Grace
