I am Capable
I came across a quote the other day that really struck me and I thought I’d share it here this week.
Every morning I start my day with breakfast and coffee while I do my word puzzles.
I think it’s like warming up my mind before I start my day at the computer.
One of my puzzles is like a word scramble thing, pretty straight forward. But I like that it has beautiful calming scenery and a different quote at the beginning every day.
And the quote that made me stop and read it over a few times is this.
“You are capable of what you are willing to work for”
How cool is that! I love this one.
If you have ever questioned your ability to do something new, then this should help answer the question.
“Can I do it?”
If you are willing to put the effort in and keep working hard, keep learning, keep focused on the end results, then you must believe that you are capable of achieving your goal.
However big or small that goal is!
I have two such goals in mind for myself that are relatable to this quote.
I will keep one to myself for now, but the other one I can share.
Now this goal for a lot of people would be a no brainer, but for me as an over thinking, anxiety ridden introvert, it’s a big deal! And that is one point I want to make, your goals are yours, don’t compare yourself to others.
And the goal is to drive four hours one way, by myself, to visit my daughter and granddaughter “Little Cupcake” to visit for a couple of days in November.
“The willing to work for it “ part will be getting myself in a mindset that gets me over the anxiety of doing it.
For me if I plan things out, make stops along the way, and just take one mile at a time, I am sure I will be capable of doing it.
And in doing so, I can add this experience to the “Hear Me Roar” file! Click the link for that article.
The other thing that helps me get past the anxiety is to think of “What’s the worst that could happen”
I have a cell phone, CAA ( auto assistance for car related problems like a break down etc) and I will leave with a full tank of gas both going there and coming home. So that helps with the “what ifs” for my over thinking negative nelly part of my brain.
So yes, I believe I am capable of accomplishing this goal!
Whatever goal you have in mind, think about this quote, and take the steps forward to make it happen!
Life Experience Wisdom
* Believing you are capable is the first step to achieving any goal.
* Focus and work hard on what you want to accomplish to make it happen.
* Pat yourself on the back and enjoy the feeling of empowerment after you accomplish your goal.
That’s it for this week, I must tend to my ongoing “Hear me Roar” task of cutting the grass, and yes I still feel empowered after running around with the lawn mower!
Cheers til next week,
Grace
