Invest in Yourself
Investing in yourself is not a selfish thing to do as I’ve heard some people say in the past. That’s just more old thinking.
But in fact it empowers you to shape your life to fit you. It helps you strive for a more meaningful life as well.
It builds your confidence and shows you how resilient you are.
Who doesn’t want more of that?
When you accomplish something you didn’t think possible it lifts your spirits and you begin to believe in yourself which is very awesome and empowering. You just want to do more to find your next accomplishment waiting to be discovered.
A critical reason to invest in yourself is the way it impacts relationships. Once you invest in your mental health and become confident in who you are, you are less likely to put up with being treated badly by any one, because you know you are worthy of respect, which will guide you away from unhealthy relationships.
You deserve a healthy loving, no drama relationship.
We all do! Always remember that.
And that self confidence that you have built up from investing in yourself, will help you walk away from unhealthy relationships.
That’s a win!
So how do you invest in yourself?
I have five ways that will help you get started.
* Never stop learning. Read, take courses in person or online. Watch YouTube how to videos. Invest in your ability to keep your mind sharp.
* Eat healthy and exercise to invest in your physical and mental wellness. Meditate, journal, walk or whatever activity you enjoy to boost your energy and keep you focused on looking after yourself.
* Connect with people to invest in family and friend relationships, to be inspired and in return inspire others by showing them how to invest in themselves. Either in person or online connections just keep in touch with loved ones, whatever works for you. Even us introverts need a little people time.
* Set goals. Challenge yourself to go after something new. Work towards goals by breaking things down in manageable steps. You will be less likely to get overwhelmed and you can celebrate small victories along the way to keep you motivated.
* Change up your mindset. I’m all about a positive mindset. Don’t beat yourself up if you make a mistake. Learn from it and move forward. Developing a growth mindset will help you go from a “fall on your face failure” to a “fail forward” mindset.
A growth mindset also helps you adapt to challenges by making you resilient to keep you moving forward towards your goals.
Investing in yourself is a life long journey of commitment to yourself. It can lead to your life filled with confidence, purpose and happiness.
And sweet soul you deserve all of that and more!
So go ahead and take the time to invest in yourself.
