Create Your Own Path
This week I want to chat about a phrase that a lot of us grew up hearing. “Finding yourself.”
People would set off on a quest to find themselves, whether they left school or quit jobs, and backpack across the country.
Finding themselves seemed to be something to go looking for.
I don’t buy it, didn’t years ago and still don’t today.
I believe we should stop searching for who we are, and start building who we want to be!
Finding your identity or purpose in life isn’t some hidden treasure you need to play hide and seek with.
Life is about embracing the idea of creating yourself. You get to decide who you want to be.
You are driving the bus and constantly growing and being shaped by your choices and experiences.
Think about what matters most to you. What kind of life do you want to lead. Picture yourself in the future, how do you see yourself?
If you aren’t happy with your choices, choose something else!
Your choices, your consequences.
Don’t be afraid to try new things, even when you have setbacks, as I always say, learn and grow from mistakes.
Creating yourself isn’t a one time mission, it’s a constant day to day process.
Set goals and figure out how to achieve them. Remembering to take a day at a time to walk the path to get to those goals.
Life isn’t about finding a predetermined version of yourself, it’s about creating the vision of yourself that you see in your head that is uniquely you!
You are a work in progress with endless possibilities!
You get to shape your future!
Don’t waste any more time waiting for life to find you…get out and create the life you want!
Life Experience Wisdom
* You get to choose and shape your life.
* Whatever age you are, you can always reinvent yourself. You just have to believe in yourself enough to do it.
That’s it for this week, take time to reflect on what you want in your life for the new year ahead.
As always thanks for stopping by,
Cheers til next week,
Grace
My Motto
When life throws baseball size lemons at you, that smack you upside the head, stomp on those damn things and make yourself a cocktail!
