Proudly Wear the Rose Coloured Glasses
A few years ago I was told, “You wear rose coloured glasses.”
Now I’m not talking about a trendy form of sunglasses when I say this.
This is in regard to how you look at life generally. You see things in a rosy positive way.
Sounds good doesn’t it? I always thought so.
No it was said to me in a derogatory mean laughing, make fun of me way, like I was naïve about the world.
Now I had come far enough in my “self reflection, I know who I am and how I want to be treated, to stand up for myself, don’t mess with me any more” journey. That no bully was going to get the upper hand on me again.
So I shot back my answer to said bully, “Well at least I’m not enjoying wallowing around in self pity, the world is against me, nothing ever goes right for me negativity” Jeeze louise why would it with that attitude!
And like most bullies when you snap back at them, this one shut right up too.
Wearing rose coloured glasses simply means you choose to look at the positive side of what goes on in your life. I certainly know not everything is always golden or rosy!
Some people are just so full of nasty poison that they can’t see anything but the bad things in life.
That’s a them problem, not a you problem.
I knew being a positive person was good for me. And that letting this bully get in my head and make me feel bad about myself was not good for me mentally.
So I didn’t allow what he said to stick to me, I brushed it off, looking at where it came from.
It came from a toxic person, the person I was in a relationship with.
I’m no longer with that man.
I know I am worthy of better and deserve respect.
I deserve a caring partner, not a toxic one.
And I have that now.
We all deserve to be treated with respect, and never made fun of for having a positive outlook on life.
It’s quite simply common sense.
So wear your rose coloured glasses with a smile on your face and your head held high!
Life Experience Wisdom
* Recognize the toxic people in your life and remind yourself that they are the problem not you. You deserve better.
* Enjoy being positive, it does your soul good.
That’s it for this week,
I think I’ll see if I can find an actual pair or rosy sunglasses to wear when I’m feeling sassy!
Cheers til next week,
Grace
